| October 31, 2007 Employment Non-Discrimination Act unlikely to come up for a vote this week now ENDA is not on the agenda for Rules today; it appears unlikely ENDA will come up this week. A reporter from the LGBT press says that the Speaker's office told him ENDA will now not come up this week; the leadership does not yet know what they are going to do. ENDA lobbyist coalition (LCCR) meeting today has been moved to Friday, so there may be some information coming out then. This is a coalition of lobbyists that has been meeting bi-weekly since the start of the summer. Members' offices are being visited and called. United ENDA says the more that continues the better it is. If folks have not yet contacted their representative's offices with the message that a non-inclusive ENDA is not supported and should not come to a vote unless it is amended to be inclusive, they should do so. There is still the concern that leadership is just trying to wait us out. We want to make sure that they have no reason to believe that that will work, if they are thinking it. We will communicate with you when there is additional information available, possibly Friday.
