| October 11, 2007 Your help needed to ensure equal protections for people of ALL gender identities The latest version of the US Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) is proposing language designed to protect people with disabilities and people of all sexual orientations and gender identities from worksite discrimination. However, there are efforts in the House to strip transgender protections from the bill. A national coalition of over 180 organizations, including Lutherans Concerned / North America, is unified in our determination to get a trans-inclusive version of EDNA passed. In order to do so, we have to change the hearts and minds of a number of House members in the next ten days. Momentum is good, but the voices of people of faith are still critical! Please make your voice heard today by contacting your representatives in the House, asking them to support the original version of ENDA, H.R. 2015, with both sexual orientation and gender identity protections included. Information about how to contact your US Representatives can be found at the House of Representatives website. For additional information, including an email letter-writing tool put together by the Metropolitan Community Churches, please go to the MCC website. Thank you for your witness.
