Volunteers still welcomed!

As we approach the final weeks before the ELCA Churchwide Assembly 2007, it is important for each of you, as members of organizations that support the full inclusion of LGBT into the life of the church, regardless of your church affiliation, that you consider your role in the process.

• It may be signing up for the Prayer Vigil at www.goodsoil.org and sending forth your support to all involved for prayerful discernment, action and reaction.
• It may be knitting or crocheting one more rainbow scarf to help identify the volunteers which will be present daily to answer questions and help with the sharing of our story. Email grassroots@lcna.org for instructions.
• It may be sending much needed financial support to enable the story to be told. LC/NA, PO Box 4707, Saint Paul, MN 55104.
• It may be deciding now that you need to be there in Chicago to lend your voice, your presence, your power to share the message of LGBT gifts within the church. Churchwide provides worship almost beyond compare: more than 1200 Lutheran voices lifted in song. It provides a sense of energy and excitement. It also can engender a disquieting sense of alienation, because of the vocalization of the current vigorous disagreement within the church. However, as faithful believers, it will be a time of grace-filled and uplifting engagement, regardless of the outcome.
