The training takes place from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, January 28, at Reformation Lutheran Church (Columbia, SC).

This condensed, intense one-day training is great day for congregational teams and interested individuals to gain the basics of graceful engagement to Deepen the Welcome. As the church engages rapid changes in society, this training will be useful for:

* Congregations just beginning conversation about explicit welcome for LGBTQ people and their families.

* Congregations who may be Reconciling in Christ but are looking to renew, refresh or deepen their welcome and conversation about welcome

* Congregations who may be engaging conversation about marriage/blessing policies

* Congregations or individuals who might be willing to be further equipped to assist other congregations in site or issue-specific training aspects

Participants will be equipped with a tool-kit for assessing the congregational timeline and readiness, and trained in graceful engagement techniques that would be helpful for any congregational conversations that involved deep listening and reconciling.

SPECIAL NOTE: This training is part of an entire weekend of Welcoming events held in Columbia, SC, including a showing of the film Bullied, a preaching workshop, and festival worship. Please see here for more details.
