Getting There
Discount on Northwest Airlines Flights
Lutherans Concerned / North America is aware of the rising costs of airline travel. We are trying to help as much as we can. We have negotiated a discount for members from Northwest Airlines.
The discounts are for between 5% and 15% depending on the flight and how far in advance you book your ticket.
You may book your ticket online at www.nwa.com. When searching for flights, in the E-Cert section, specify Yes and select the "Meeting Agreement (WorldFile Number)" option and enter NYVS6. You can also call a reservation agent at 800.328.1111. When asked, refer to WorldFile Number NYVS6.
In addition to your discount, for every 40 tickets purchased using this discount, Northwest will give Lutherans Concerned 1 free ticket, which we can use for speakers, musicians or other resource people, which will, in turn, help keep the cost of Hearts on Fire affordable!
We are also currently working on a discount with a local shuttle company. Check back to this page for updates.

Public Transportation
First, while there are taxis and limousines, the public transportation in San Francisco is extensive. You can get from the airport to SFSU and around town quite easily. The first thing to know is that there are two levels of public transportation.
BART is available for Bay Area mobility. This will be your primary way to get from SFO into the city or move between Oakland, Berkeley and San Francisco. The fares are based on distance traveled.
The MUNI is the San Francisco city public transportation. It consists of a network of trams (both above and underground) and busses. Single trips cost $1.50, while there are 1-day or 3-day passes available.
Getting to SFSU from the Oakland Airport
Oakland has a frequent shuttle bus to the nearby Oakland Coliseum Station of the BART ($3 fare)
Getting to SFSU from the San Francisco Airport
SFO has a BART station on site. On BART, the Balboa Park and Daly City stations have direct MUNI connections to SFSU.
Taxis, Limos, and Shuttles
SuperShuttle: Call 1-800-258-3826 for reservations or Supershuttle vans are outside of departures.
Taxicabs are available from several taxi companies by phone (Luxor, Yellow, City Cab are the most common). Fares are relatively high.
